Lidocaine HCl Injection 4% Preservative-Free is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution intended for local or regional anesthesia. This formulation contains 40 mg/mL of lidocaine hydrochloride and is supplied in a 5 mL ampule. It is preservative-free, making it suitable for single-dose administration and minimizing the risk of hypersensitivity or adverse reactions related to preservatives.

Lidocaine is an amide-type local anesthetic. It acts by blocking sodium ion channels in neuronal membranes, thereby inhibiting the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. This mechanism produces localized numbness or loss of sensation in targeted areas. The rapid onset of action and intermediate duration make it appropriate for a wide range of procedures requiring local anesthesia.

This formulation is indicated for infiltration, nerve block, and epidural anesthesia. It is used across multiple clinical settings, including surgical, dental, and diagnostic procedures.
