Banophen 25 mg capsules are an over-the-counter antihistamine medication used to relieve symptoms of allergies, hay fever, and the common cold. The active ingredient, diphenhydramine hydrochloride, is an H1-receptor antagonist that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. It is effective for relieving sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes, and symptoms of allergic skin conditions such as hives.

The capsules are formulated for oral administration and contain 25 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride per dose. They are typically pink or red in color and are easy to swallow.
