PDS™ II Violet Monofilament Suture, Size 6/0, 18", P-1 Needle is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of polydioxanone. This material offers extended wound support while undergoing slow hydrolytic degradation. Its violet coloration enhances intraoperative visibility, making it suitable for delicate surgical fields requiring high precision.

The suture demonstrates consistent tensile strength retention: approximately 80% at two weeks, 70% at four weeks, and 60% at six weeks. This extended profile supports tissue approximation over longer healing durations, particularly in tissues where prolonged mechanical support is essential. Full absorption of the material typically occurs between 183 and 238 days.
