PDS II Clear Monofilament Suture, Size 5/0, 18", P-2 Needle, is an absorbable suture designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation. Made from polydioxanone, it offers enhanced tensile strength and low tissue reactivity. The suture's monofilament design ensures smooth passage through tissue, minimizing friction and reducing the risk of tissue damage during the procedure. 

The PDS II suture features a reverse cutting needle, which provides exceptional sharpness and precision for clean tissue penetration. This needle design is ideal for tough tissue areas, ensuring minimal resistance and reduced trauma during suturing. The combination of the monofilament suture and reverse cutting needle makes this product highly effective for complex surgical procedures requiring high tensile strength and durability.

The suture retains 80% of its tensile strength after 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks, and 60% at 6 weeks. This gradual loss of strength allows for optimal tissue healing while providing sufficient support during the critical initial healing phase. The complete absorption of the suture occurs within 183 to 238 days, eliminating the need for removal and reducing the risk of complications.
