Monocryl Plus Suture, Violet, Size 2-0, 27", CT-2 Needle is a synthetic absorbable monofilament suture that integrates antibacterial protection. It contains triclosan, which provides antimicrobial activity against pathogens commonly associated with surgical site infections. The suture is supplied sterile with a CT-2 needle, which is a 3/8 circle taper point designed for delicate soft tissue approximation.

The suture material offers excellent pliability, contributing to smooth and consistent passage through tissue. Its monofilament construction minimizes tissue drag and ensures reduced risk of trauma, especially in subcutaneous and intradermal closures. The smooth surface also facilitates easier knot tying and supports secure knot placement for reliable wound support.

Monocryl Plus retains 50–60% of its original tensile strength at 1 week post-implantation and undergoes complete absorption via hydrolysis in approximately 91–119 days. This predictable absorption profile supports temporary wound support while reducing the risk of long-term foreign body presence.
