Ethibond Excel Suture, Size 3/0, White, 30", is a nonabsorbable, braided surgical suture composed of polyethylene terephthalate. It is engineered to provide excellent strength, durability, and long-term performance in soft tissue approximation. The suture's braided construction offers enhanced handling and knot security, making it suitable for various surgical applications requiring dependable tissue support.

The suture is coated with polybutilate, a biologically inert, nonabsorbable compound. This coating reduces tissue drag, enhances suture pliability, and improves overall handling compared to uncoated braided fibers. It serves as a mechanical lubricant, enabling smooth passage through tissue while maintaining the physical integrity of the suture material.

Equipped with a TAPERCUT™ needle, this configuration combines the penetrating power of a cutting needle with the smooth passage of a taper needle. The 1/2 circle V-5 needle is designed to cut through dense or fibrous tissues while minimizing trauma to surrounding structures. This makes the suture especially effective in procedures involving tough or calcified tissues.
