Description

The Chromic Gut Suture, Size 6-0, 18", G-1 Needle, is a sterile, absorbable surgical suture made from purified connective tissue (mostly collagen) derived from the serosal layer of beef or the submucosal fibrous layer of sheep intestines. It is treated with chromic salts to delay absorption and prolong tensile strength retention, making it suitable for tissues that require extended support during the early healing phase.

This suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and ligation. The chromic treatment enhances resistance to enzymatic degradation, providing a moderate absorption profile compared to plain gut sutures.
