Description
Coated Vicryl Absorbable Suture, Undyed Braided, CP-2 Needle, Size 0, 27" is a synthetic, absorbable, sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. The suture features a braided structure for enhanced handling and is coated to provide smoother passage through tissue and reduce friction during suturing.
This suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including ophthalmic procedures. However, it is not suitable for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues. It offers consistent handling characteristics, and its design allows for secure knot tying, with reliable knot security achieved on the first throw, which is especially beneficial in delicate surgical fields.
Coated Vicryl sutures are frequently used in various surgical applications, including general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, and procedures involving the reproductive tract, ophthalmic surgery, and selected orthopedic interventions. It is often considered a second-line option for orthopedic use where non-absorbable sutures may not be preferred.
