Description

Monocryl Plus Suture, P-1, Undyed, Size 6-0, 18" is a sterile, synthetic absorbable monofilament suture composed of poliglecaprone 25. It includes triclosan (Irgacare MP) as an antibacterial agent to inhibit bacterial colonization on the suture surface. This feature enhances its suitability for use in procedures involving high-risk patients or in surgical sites susceptible to infection.

The suture provides reliable initial wound support, retaining 50–60% of its tensile strength at one week and 20–30% by the end of the second week. It undergoes complete hydrolytic absorption within 91 to 119 days. This absorption profile ensures support during the early phases of healing while eliminating the need for suture removal.

Its monofilament structure reduces tissue drag and minimizes the risk of bacterial wicking. The undyed form further minimizes tissue visibility, making it ideal for cosmetic and delicate closures. The material offers superior pliability, allowing consistent and smooth passage through tissue, reducing trauma during placement.
