Dovato (Dolutegravir Sodium / Lamivudine) 50 mg - 30 mg tablets are a fixed-dose combination used for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection in adults. This combination regimen consists of dolutegravir, an integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI), and lamivudine, a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI). Both drugs work synergistically to inhibit critical steps in the HIV life cycle, preventing the virus from replicating and helping to maintain viral suppression.

Dolutegravir functions by binding to the HIV integrase enzyme, preventing the integration of viral DNA into the host genome. Lamivudine works by inhibiting reverse transcriptase, preventing the conversion of viral RNA into DNA. The combination of these two agents offers potent and effective suppression of HIV replication.

Each bottle contains 30 tablets, with each tablet providing 50 mg of dolutegravir and 30 mg of lamivudine. Common side effects may include headache, diarrhea, nausea, and fatigue. Serious side effects include hypersensitivity reactions and liver enzyme abnormalities. Dovato should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and light.
