PDS™ II Absorbable Suture, Taper Point, 1/2 Circle, 13 mm, Size 6-0, Violet, 1" x 27", TF is a sterile, monofilament synthetic suture composed of polydioxanone. It is designed for extended wound support with a gradual absorption profile. The violet coloration provides enhanced visibility during surgical procedures, and the monofilament construction enables smooth tissue passage while minimizing tissue trauma and reducing the risk of infection.

This suture features a 13 mm, 1/2 circle taper point needle, ideal for soft tissue approximation in delicate surgical fields. The taper point needle is engineered to penetrate tissue without cutting, preserving tissue integrity, especially in applications such as subcuticular, plastic, or pediatric closures.

PDS™ II sutures maintain approximately 80% of their original tensile strength at two weeks, 70% at four weeks, and 60% at six weeks. This extended strength retention supports proper tissue healing over time. Complete mass absorption occurs within 183 to 238 days through hydrolysis, leaving no residual foreign material in the tissue.
