MAXON™ 3/0 18 Clear CE-4/C-13 sutures are high-performance synthetic absorbable sutures crafted from polyglyconate, a copolymer of glycolic acid and trimethylene carbonate. These sutures are designed for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, offering a reliable option for use in pediatric cardiovascular tissues, where growth is anticipated, and in peripheral vascular surgeries.

MAXON™ sutures provide excellent tensile strength retention during the critical early phases of healing. They maintain approximately 75% of their initial tensile strength at two weeks, 65% at three weeks, and 50% at four weeks post-implant. This gradual reduction in strength allows for sufficient support during the healing process while avoiding premature loss of support.

The absorption profile of MAXON™ sutures ensures minimal loss until about 60 days after implantation, with the material being essentially completely absorbed within six months. This characteristic makes them ideal for procedures where gradual absorption and support are needed, aligning with the natural healing process of the tissue.
