Monocryl Plus Suture, Undyed, Size 5-0, 18", PC-3 Needle is a synthetic absorbable monofilament suture designed for optimal wound closure in soft tissue approximation and ligation. It features antibacterial protection, making it suitable for procedures with an increased risk of bacterial contamination. The suture is composed of a copolymer of glycolide and epsilon-caprolactone, providing controlled tensile strength retention and predictable absorption over time.

The suture retains approximately 50-60% of its initial tensile strength after the first week, ensuring sufficient wound support during the critical healing phase. By the second week, 60-70% of its tensile strength is lost, allowing for gradual load transfer to the healing tissue. Complete absorption occurs within 91-119 days through hydrolysis, minimizing the risk of foreign body reactions and long-term tissue irritation.

The monofilament structure enhances smooth passage through tissue, reducing trauma and minimizing tissue drag. The excellent pliability of Monocryl Plus facilitates easy handling, precise knot placement, and secure knot tying.
